Position Summary:

The Manager of Lab IT at RCA is the leader of the IT Team and has direct influence on execution of the broad information technology strategy. This role will ensure that RCA has the necessary resources to execute on RCA’s ambitious growth plans with the on-time delivery of all IT projects. The Manager of Lab IT is responsible for people management of other IT associates to effectively implement new technology and applications is also expected to be "hands on". The Manager of Lab IT will have a collaborative relationship with the other peer leaders in assigned business areas. Associates reporting to this Manager will understand business area needs, develop information technology strategies, plan information technology projects, execute projects, and provide timely and frequent status updates to stakeholders to improve the operational and financial success of the business area. This role will directly manage a team of functional and technical associates and indirectly influence associates on other information technology teams and across business areas to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget and represent increasing value for the business.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

· Lead, manage and provide planning, reporting and execution direction in LIMS Project and Lab IT Managed Services, while contributing in process development, improvement and implementation

· Implements information technology strategies

· Research technological solutions to problems and technical opportunities

· Performs project management on critical projects and mentors team members in project management as appropriate

· Ensure all team members adhere to documented Software Development Life Cycle as well as relevant regulations, policies and standards

· Identifies root cause of issues and implements permanent solutions to prevent future occurrences Implements proactive monitoring to ensure early warnings and quick recovery

· Demonstrate strong leadership skills by mentoring, coaching, and giving timely, accurate feedback to employees for development purposes

· Effectively communicate with all levels of management and across all functional areas regarding applicable IT priorities and project statuses

· Builds and maintain information technology with the capability that reflects innovation and is consistent with company needs and budget

· Demonstrates ability to manage conflicts and issues regarding matters of significance

· Interviews and makes appropriate hiring and termination decisions to improve the team

· Represent department and the organization favorably and in accordance with established company standards and associate attributes at all times

  • Maintains professional, technical, and industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Contributes to larger organizational efforts by collaboration with other IT teams and other business departments

 

Education & Experience

  • BS – in Life Sciences, Engineering or IT related discipline – required
  • 10+ years of experience GMP regulated industry
  • 5 years experience working in an IT Quality role
  • Experience in leading or managing teams
  • Strong Knowledge of IT Controls methodologies
  • Solid understanding of GMP applications
  • Knowledge of the IT system development life cycle and software quality assurance in a regulated environment
  • Knowledge of general networking concepts and IT best practices

· Ability to work both independently and with teams at various levels in the organization

· Ability to work in a very dynamic environment with a clear sense of urgency

· Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written as well as capable of presenting the right level of information to management
