QA Testing (Systems Analyst)

Position Summary:

The QA Testing/Systems Analyst is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of laboratory software, analysis of design requirements, operational needs, workflows, implementation time estimating and available automation solutions. The quality assurance (QA) analyst is primarily responsible for testing all software products that are either built in-house or purchased externally. The tester partners with internal stakeholders to plan, test, and implement all software changes to ensure that products conform to the desired quality standard. The tester is accountable for defects and ensures that systems are operational and client ready. May be called upon to; Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs, document requirements, define scope and objectives to determine overall business strategies. May serve as the primary liaison between IT and business teams for all testing activities.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

· Develops testing strategy and user acceptance testing plan

· Prioritizes test scenarios and executes according to plan

· Develops and documents step-by-step test cases based on the software requirements elicited by business analysts and software developers

· Develops test scripts to automate manual repeatable time intensive tasks

· Identifies, logs, and tracks defects

· Provides reporting on defect tracking and escalates technical issues as needed

· Follows standards in accordance with company policy and regulation

· Provides support for the LIS and related applications

· Resolve reported issues

· Special Projects requiring knowledge of the LIS systems. Includes software upgrades and patches to LIS systems

· Validation of impact to upstream and downstream application changes

· Review and test all Software and hardware changes

· Lead for LIS Projects such as version upgrades, etc.

· Perform all other duties as assigned by leadership

 

Education & Experience

· 3-5 years of relevant work experience in software and systems testing

· Experience writing test plans and test cases

· Experience in applying formal QA and testing methodologies.

· Proficiency in test management tools, functional and load testing automation tools is a plus

· Expertise in full systems development lifecycle for software maintenance, development, and/or implementation projects

· Experience in healthcare industry preferred but not required
