Reporting to the IT Infrastructure Systems Manager, the Senior Systems Engineer must demonstrate knowledge of several areas, including Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Administration, Azure, Office 365, VMware. This role is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This individual participates in technical research to assist with delivering and ongoing support of innovation within the infrastructure environment. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards, controls, and best practices according to industry standards.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments, VMware Vcenter/ESXi servers
  • Effectively work assigned projects and tasks while lending support to the team

  • Job Responsibilities
  • Configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers in physical and virtualized environments, VMware Vcenter/ESXi servers
  • Effectively work assigned projects and tasks while lending support to the team
  • Experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS, Okta/Identity & Access Management, VMware virtualization, CISCO networking & DR technologies
  • Monitor, analyze, and report critical metrics for environmental health, performance, and capacity
  • Administer and support enterprise data backup solution.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to improve and optimize the infrastructure, focusing on Azure and IaaS/PaaS.
  • Administer, monitor, and maintain computer systems and networks, both cloud and on-premise. Automate system installation, configuration, validation, and patching
  • Work closely with the security team to ensure remediation of security vulnerabilities
  • Participate in gathering business, functional & technical requirements from various stakeholders
  • Available for off-hours may work irregular work schedules as needed and provide off-hours operational support.

  • Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Regularly review IT industry publications and online materials; remain up-to-date with current and emerging technologies
  • Participate in team meetings, providing input and suggestions.
  • Ability to work as a key member and leader in a team environment; communicate in a timely and effective manner

  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associates degree in Engineering- or IT-related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 5+ years Direct experience working with Server and Storage Technology
  • Deploying and supporting Hyper-Converged architecture in a server environment
  • Experience managing a full Microsoft enterprise stack: Windows servers (2012/2016/2019), Active Directory, DNS, Office 365,
  • Strong documentation skills working with business and technical requirements
  • Industry Certifications
  • Occasional travel to support infrastructure projects and initiatives
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
  • Experience working in a Healthcare Environment
  • Monitor, analyze, and report critical metrics for environmental health, performance, and capacity
