Position Overview:

  • The Trainer, working under the supervision of the Training Supervisor, is located at the Genetworx facility in Glen Allen, VA. The primary role will be to coordinate, upload and respond to all data surround the use of our Learning Management System for tracking employee training, documents, and personnel files. Learn and navigates the Learning Management System (LMS) to ensure accurate records and online training materials are available for a large employee group. Acts as web software help desk responding to emails regarding document software issues.
  • Ensures through formal online trainings that employees are well-educated in their job functions and compliant with required documents and training. Ability to troubleshoot web based software is a must.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Measures effectiveness of trainings via collecting daily data on failed online courses.
  • Upload new documents, and training presentations into Learning Management System (LMS)
  • Coordinates access to the Learning Management System (LMS) for employees and external resources.
  • Assist LMS "super users" in developing subgroups and corresponding training course assignments.
  • Coordinate the use of the LMS by training and mentoring Training LMS Administrators and employees,
  • Develop necessary job aids, and policies, coordinating activities and practices with other remote business sites.
  • Ensure the proper documentation of training in Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Content: input into the learning management system (LMS).
  • Responsible for technical actions required to make e-learning content available to staff via the LMS.
  • Work with vendors to coordinate technical or professional training offerings and to address software issues..
  • Assist in the development, and implementation of training plans/curriculum for new hire training, on-the-job training, and CAP compliance in conjunction with departments/functions.
  • Run department reports on completion of assigned LMS tasks. Provide research to effectively answer LMS content information requests.
  • Run weekly Document Control reports and manage daily LMS email correspondence and act as Training Help Desk.
  • Verify that the correct document was uploaded and is completed in its entirety.
  • Assist in the training employees in the effective use of LMS.
  • Build out courses and train in COMPASS.
  • Training content development and management for Microsoft Teams, Lab Software (Aura, Copia, PRSQRL and Learning Management Systems (MediaLab/Compass) based on identified business needs.
  • Collaborates with Supervisors and Training Team to implement new initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Computer Systems preferred.
  • Experience in website support for training tracking software. Training/teaching experience a plus.
  • Strong website customer service skills to include the use of multiple software programs.
  • Familiar with website uploading, editing and navigating training software.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: medical records, training tracking, technical lab software and/or Learning Management Systems.
  • Exceptional organizational and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to be flexible with work schedule as variable work schedules will be necessary at times.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel) products
  • Works well in a fast paced, changing, team driven environment
