Position Overview: The Field Technician — Concierge Collections serves as the key customer interface between Genetworx Laboratories and our patients. The employee in this position will collect, process, and ship specimens to be received exclusively by Genetworx Laboratories. The employee will be responsible for operating within all applicable guidelines and staying current with all professional and safety training as well as licensure as appropriate.

Specific Responsibilities:

 

To perform this job successfully, and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform COVID-19 specimen collections (nasal swab), according to laboratory requirements to be sent exclusively to Genetworx Laboratories.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of labeling on all specimens to be sent exclusively to Genetworx Laboratories.
  • Process specimens to be sent exclusively to Genetworx Laboratories as required to assure specimen viability and quality analysis.
  • Package and ship specimens to be sent exclusively to Genetworx Laboratories via assigned courier services per Genetworx protocol.
  • Operate and maintain equipment associated with Genetworx Laboratories as necessary.
  • Follow Genetworx PPE and sanitization protocol
  • Perform all required tasks in a fashion that meets or exceeds legal and regulatory standards including, but not limited to: privacy/confidentiality laws (e.g. HIPAA,) conflict-of-interest laws (e.g. Stark law and federal anti-kickback law,) and laboratory operations regulations (e.g. OSHA, CLIA, CAP).
  • Maintain appropriate levels of supplies necessary for the collection and processing of specimens
  • Provide support to the Project manager on all company, client, and patient inquiries related exclusively to Genetworx Laboratories services.
  • Identify and convey to management any potential issues that could interfere with the company’s ability to provide services and provide feedback which could improve the company’s quality of service.
  • Maintain all personal licensure and training requirements as applicable.
  • Demonstrate thorough and professional communication at all times.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by management.

 

Education and Experience

  • 2-year associate’s degree in a life sciences or related field OR a 4-year bachelor’s degree in hospitality, communication, nursing, life sciences or related field
  • Comfortable with handling and trouble-shooting technology on site, with assistance from remote IT Support technician
  • Confident with client relationships as it pertains to on site set up and logistics
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized; Takes notes on observations and follows through on them
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Professional demeanor and attitude
  • Required: Driver’s license
  • Nice to have: CPR and First Aid Certification

Work Environment & Travel Expectations:

  • Will work in a variety of environments including professional offices, patient homes, hotels, production studios and sets, dressing rooms, etc.
  • Additional work environments may include Long Term Care Facilities, clinics, hospitals, or other out-patient facilities.
  • Will spend most of the time traveling to collection locations and must be comfortable driving, taking public transportation, and walking to various specified locations.
  • Due to the sensitive nature of specimen collection, it is vital that the field technician maintain a professional and calming demeanor at all times with both internal and external clients.
  • Eligible candidates must own or have access to and be able to operate a motor vehicle
